The red river winds for more than 500km through northern of Vietnam, flooding the surroundings plains and enriching the soil providing the farmers with the nutrients they need for their crops. The cruise follows the river from Hanoi to the sea and enters the magical Halong Bay. This 3 day/2 night cruise upon the charming Jewel of the Delta passes spectacular limestone mountain landscapes with thousands of limestone peaks rising up from crystalline emerald water. DAY 1: CRUISE THE RED RIVER

After your breakfast, our Customer Service Manager will pick you up from your Hotel. We drive out of Hanoi to meet our boat on the bank of Red river. A welcome drink will be served in the lounge, before making our first stop at Chi Phuong Dock. We then transfer to our modern bicycles as we embark on a ride along the winding country roads. We will visit But Thap Pagoda and continue to Dong Ho Handicraft village, renowned for its unique wood prints.

We will return to our boat where a delicious five course Vietnamese lunch will be served in the cozy dinning room. Around noon we enter Thai Binh River. Along the river you will see endless green fields and brick factories in strange shapes. You can have an afternoon nap or enjoy fresh air on the sundeck. In the afternoon as we cruise into Kinh Thay River the scenery changes into Limestone Mountains along the river banks. Be ready with your camera, there are many photo opportunities with fishing boats and floating shops.

At 3:00 pm afternoon tea will be served in the lounge as we sail through the Kinh Mon River and have the chance to make a stop at a riverside village or a temple of the River god. In the late afternoon, witness the bustle of Hai Phong Harbor and enjoy a glass of wine before a candlelight dinner.

Tonight we anchor at Hai Phong Harbor. (L, D)

DAY 2: SAIL TO THE SEA

A hot breakfast and strong Vietnamese coffee will kick start your day. This morning, we reach gateway where the Red river meets the sea and sail through a small cannel which leads us into Ha Long Bay.

We pass through Tuan Chau Island a new man-made island covered with white sandy beaches and charming resorts. Our boat is fast and flexible compared to wooden junks which give us the advantage of discover and get closer to the best spots of Ha Long. In the morning, we visit caves and stop by a floating fish farm to pick up food for our lunch. A delicious seafood lunch will be served with a good bottle of wine.

In the afternoon enjoy a swim, soak up the sun on the sundeck or try some kayaking.

In the evening, let our chef spoil you with a splendid meal made up of fresh seafood as well as traditional Vietnamese fare as we weigh anchor in the heart of the bay. For those interested - there is the opportunity to do a spot of squid fishing from the boat. (B, L, D)

DAY 3: DISCOVER HA LONG BAY

Rising to the tranquil beauty of the bay, enjoy breakfast before visiting Ti Top Mountain, which boasts the best view of Ha Long Bay from the top.

In the morning our captain will cruise around the bay when brunch is serving. Around 09:30 am we will reach the main harbor and board our vehicle and head back to Hanoi. We should be back in Hanoi at around noon. (Brunch)
